What can I do if my milk supply is lessened after I return to work?
- You can breastfeed your baby directly when you are home. You can also feed the baby on one breast and express milk on the other side. This will send a stronger signal to your body so that more milk will be produced
- If your baby overeats in the daytime, his desire to suckle will be reduced when you come home
- So make sure your family member know your baby's cue of being full. Do not force him to finish the whole bottle of milk
- Also during working hours, express your milk twice with an interval of less than 4 hours
- Be relaxed and be confident when expressing milk
- Do not cut the night feeds deliberately. When your baby is ready for night weaning, you can express your milk once before bedtime
