Title: Practical skills : Bring the baby to the breast

Narrator: The third key point is how you bring your baby to the breast. The proper steps are: first, hold your baby close to you with his nose pointing to your nipple; next, support your baby's head and neck with his head tilted slightly backward. Touch the baby's upper lip with your nipple, by reflex, he will open his mouth wide and with his tongue down and forward; then, bring him to your breast right at this moment. Make sure his lower lip touches the lower part of your areola. In this way, your baby will take more breast tissues into his mouth and attach well to your breast. Remember! If you push your breast to your baby's mouth, he will not attach well to your breast.
